The Tsukimi have rich and mysterious oral and magically remembered mythological and spiritual beliefs. The retelling of these tales may vary a bit between individual tribes, but the core principles and ideas remain the same.
Kiro & The Dragon
One of the most important legends of the Tsukimi is that of Kiro, a brave Tsukimi warrior who conquered a dragon that held Temos under a reign of terror. It is well known that although dragons inhabit Ember and the other two moons, Temos is completely devoid of dragons. Although modern dragon populations are peaceful or at least neutral to other intelligent races, it is well known that this was not always the case, and some theorize based on this story that perhaps ancestral dragons may have tried to settle here but found the Tsukimi too difficult to conquer.
A traditional Tsukimi poem tells the legend of Kiro, and it can actually it can be found etched into a stone tablet upon Temos' tallest peak. A small shrine carved into the peak holds the stone. The poem tells of Kiro, strong with the vigor of youth and with firey aether wings whose brightness rivaled the sun. The dragon Kiro fought was described as a beast hundreds of feet tall, with gigantic claws and a voice that shook the earth. This dragon preyed on all the creatures of Tehmos, laying waste to the delicate ecosystem and leaving desolation in it's wake. Kiro bravely lead the charge against the dragon, conquering it in solo combat as he deftly soared around the huge beast. The dragon was forced to retreat through the aether gate it entered from, and dragons were not seen of Temos again.
